C.R.A.P.

Advertisements are meant to catch our attention for a particular product, service, or organization. The reason most of these advertisements catch our attention is through the acronym C.R.A.P. I am going to show you an add and walk you through why it should catch your attention.
From Wire Magazine
Contrast:
The contrast of the white text with the black background is one thing that will catch your attention. The white stands out against the black. It has some blue in it to catch our eye as well.

Repetition:
This advertisement repeats itself by the bars repeating; they are repeating itself in a circular motion. It also repeats by itself by the font repeating as well. The little dots are also repeating.

Alignment:
This advertisement is mostly left aligned. The bars are following the golden ratio. The bars circle around to the top left corner to draw our eye to the main point. It is also split into two. It os mostly a picture, with little text. Most people do not want to read a lot, so advertisers will put more images.

Proximity:
This advertisement has everything spaced out evenly. They have the main point they want to get across in the top left, while all the follow up information is on the bottom. This is visually pleasing to the eye, which is something else that will draw us in.
