Life After Death?

As a kid we all were told that once you die you go to heaven, but what if that is not the case? On Thursday our class watched a short film about how to live forever. In the film, the advertised a way to live forever by becoming a program. The program allowed the living, and the others who had decided to be programed, to continue interacting with them. Their face would be on a T.V. monitor while being attached to a robot body that resembled their body when they were alive. During this film I wondered if people today would do this because they are scared to die, or a way for their loved ones to continue to see them. I think that this would cause a lot of problems in our community, if this film became a reality. For example, would these robots work? Where would they live? Would they have to pay bills or taxes? Technically the answer would be no because medically speaking they are dead, but physically there is a presence on Earth that used to be that individual. So would this "individual" have the same rights as a human and the same opportunities, or would this be their retirement? Along with the questions if these beings will be citizens, what about all the technical issues such as a virus infecting this being? There are too many unanswered questions at the moment for this to become a reality. What do you think?
